The client acquired this site with an existing bungalow on Old Newbridge Hill in Bath. They decided that the limitations of the existing bungalow restricted what they wanted to achieve too much so decided that the bungalow would be demolished, and a new build 4-bed property constructed in its place.
The property, featuring two large glazed gables utilises the roof space where possible, both in terms of accommodation and making use of double height space in the central areas. The style follows a very contemporary approach with crisp white render and thin profiled timber cladding (used internally as well as externally). Inside is light, spacious and has been designed with an open plan feel yet still provides the user with private spaces with clever positioning of walls and openings.
This project was worked on by Jonathan Wendzina whilst under the employment of Whitebox Architects. During this time Jonathan was involved with the design, planning, building regulations, detailing, project management and construction, while Whitebox Architects were ultimately responsible for this project.
