A two-part project; reinstating the former Grade II Listed ‘Crown & Anchor’ public house and repurposing it into several flats and a maisonette. At the rear, the conversion of an existing garage into a three-bedroom property, extended vertically to provide a second storey.
We worked closely and in great detail with the listed building officer and Building Control to ensure a successful project. The end result is stunning.
The existing rendered plinth and painted stone were carefully treated to reveal the existing stonework, the rainwater goods reinstated, the roof tiles replaced for natural slate and the internals have been completely transformed.
This project was worked on by Jonathan Wendzina and Dan Collier whilst under the employment of Whitebox Architects. During this time they were involved with the design, planning, listed building consent, building regulations, and detailing, while Whitebox Architects were ultimately responsible for this project.
