This project is a stunning conversion and extension to an old outbuilding in Sion Hill, Bath.
The brief was to double the size of the existing outbuilding which was used as a gym and art studio. The building was to be repurposed into a much larger outbuilding, and be able to provide additional accommodation with breathtaking views over the Bath skyline. The location and setting are simply stunning.
The outbuilding sits in the landscape as the topography slopes down towards the golf course, and the reused Bath Stone aligns with the old stone walls and surrounding architecture. Modern touches were included such as a panoramic picture window to make the most of the view of Bath, timber trusses, aluminium windows and natural slate roof tiles.
The spaces created are light, airy and meet the clients’ brief perfectly.
